The Kelly Hobbs difference

More than a coach. A trusted partner.

Kelly combines evidence-based mental performance training with the perspective of an athlete, longtime coach and parent — creating support that feels both expert and deeply human.

01

Personalized support

Every athlete is seen first

Coaching starts with the athlete in front of her — their personality, goals, sport, pressures and strengths.

02

Evidence-based expertise

Training you can trust

Kelly is a CMPC® with a master’s degree in Sport & Performance Psychology and decades of coaching experience.

03

Real-world perspective

She understands every side of sport

As an athlete, coach and parent of athletes, Kelly understands the people and relationships surrounding performance.

04

Practical application

Tools athletes can use right away

Sessions turn insight into clear strategies for practices, competitions, setbacks, conversations and everyday life.

The mental side deserves training, too

Talent and hard work matter. So does knowing what to do when things feel hard.

Athletes face pressure, comparison, self-doubt, perfectionism and setbacks that can affect both performance and well-being. Mental skills training gives them a way to understand those experiences instead of feeling controlled by them.

Kelly meets athletes where they are, then helps them build tools they can use in practice, competition and everyday life — with an approach that is practical, age-appropriate and genuinely engaging.

Kelly can help with

Performance anxiety and pressure
Confidence after mistakes or injury
Perfectionism and fear of failure
Negative self-talk and comparison

Identity and joy beyond results

A clearer first step.

Not sure what kind of support makes sense? These are the questions families and organizations often ask before reaching out.

Who does Kelly work with? +
Kelly works with athletes and performers of different ages and levels, as well as teams, coaches and parents. Support is tailored to the person, sport and situation rather than using a one-size-fits-all program.
Is mental performance coaching only for athletes who are struggling? +
No. Mental skills training can help with challenges such as pressure, confidence and setbacks, but it is also useful for athletes who are doing well and want to prepare more intentionally, communicate better and enjoy greater longevity in sport.
Are sessions available online? +
Yes. Kelly is based in Nashville and works virtually with individual athletes and teams from around the world, in addition to select in-person work.
What happens during a free consultation? +
The consultation is a chance to share what the athlete, family, team or organization is navigating. Kelly will explain how she works and help identify whether individual training, a speaking engagement or another resource is the best next step.
What is Camp Ultraviolet? +
Camp Ultraviolet is an immersive experience for girls, generally ages 7–13, combining movement with learning around confidence, goal setting, teamwork, leadership, communication, mindfulness and emotional awareness. No skating experience is required.
